My Approach

As a Level 2 trained practitioner in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, I regularly weave this powerful model into my sessions. IFS provides an insightful framework for exploring the many parts of ourselves, guiding clients to uncover the roots of their conflicts and address the complexities that arise along the way. Lifelong learning is vital to my practice, so I actively pursue ongoing training, reading, and research. Alongside IFS, I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and psychodynamic approaches to support my clients’ diverse needs and enhance their therapeutic journeys.

In this work, I strive to foster a sense of connection and belonging, reminding each person that they are not alone on this path of healing. Together, we can navigate the intricacies of your story and move toward a place of greater well-being and authenticity.

  • Internal Family Systems therapy is a therapeutic approach that recognizes the multiplicity of the self and the different "parts" that make up our internal world. By understanding and integrating these parts, we can cultivate greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and healing. In sessions, we will work together to identify and engage with these parts in a safe and supportive environment, promoting greater insight and personal growth.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) effectively helps clients identify and address specific challenges by recognizing the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is a practical, solution-focused approach that enables clients to pinpoint negative or inaccurate thinking patterns and reshape them, leading to improved emotional well-being and greater coping skills.

  • In psychodynamic therapy, we delve into the unconscious thoughts and feelings that shape your present behavior, relationships, and emotions. We also examine the influence of your past and present relationships on your current experiences. Together, we will identify patterns that may have been helpful in the past but could now be limiting you. Our goal is to cultivate a deeper understanding of yourself and work towards the growth you seek.

  • I incorporate mindfulness into my therapy practice because it fosters present-moment awareness and non-judgment, helping clients navigate difficult emotions with greater clarity and self-compassion. This approach supports emotional regulation, enhances resilience, and promotes a deeper understanding of oneself and others, making it a valuable tool for those managing anxiety and depression.

  • Attachment-based therapy focuses on how your early attachment experiences may impact your current relationships. By understanding these patterns, we can work together to develop new ways of relating that promote emotional safety, trust, and security in your close relationships.

  • As a trauma-informed therapist, I am aware that you may have experienced trauma, and I approach our work with sensitivity and compassion to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space for you to explore and process your experiences.

  • Compassion-focused therapy is a therapeutic approach that aims to help those who struggle with shame and self-criticism, often resulting from early experiences of abuse or neglect. CFT teaches clients to cultivate the skills of self-compassion and other-oriented compassion, which are thought to help regulate mood and lead to feelings of safety, self-acceptance, and comfort.
